TGC last launched a new website more than three years ago in May 2014, and since then, the general feel has remained much the same. Today we launch a completely redesigned site that we hope will accommodate the ever-changing ways you engage with us.
During the last site redesign, 78 percent of our traffic came directly from desktop readers. But much has changed in the past several years. In the last year 70 percent of our views have come from mobile and tablet readers, and most of them have found us through social media.
One of the challenges we face in publishing more than 150 new resources per month is how to help you find what you need but not overwhelm you with volume. Our new homepage will help you access our highest-quality and most popular resources through new trending sections. And improved search functionality will help you track down relevant resources, whether they were published three weeks ago or three years ago. Now, when you visit our site through an article link, new features will serve up related content, whether it comes in the form of an article, video, podcast, or book.
We recognize regular readers may be disoriented by some changes. It’ll take a little while to get a feel for the new features. But soon we believe you’ll see the intent behind these changes, which were prompted in part by our need to move onto a more stable content management system for the long term.
It has taken a small army of friends and thousands of hours to develop and build this new design. Special thanks to Collin Hansen and TGC’s editorial team, who helped in thinking through every aspect of our site’s strengths and weaknesses. Ben Peays and the operations team developed detailed specifications for the new design. Jeremy Davis and his design team at Craft and Valor worked tirelessly on hundreds of page designs and helped develop plans for improved content flow. Finally, Brad Linger and Todd Amlee and their incredible team at Interactive Supply Company have diligently taken design files and made them a reality. Thank you!
As always in our work at TGC, we hope and pray that God would be pleased to use this website to help tens of millions of readers all over the world to grow, love, and trust Jesus more.
